About Caroline Sheehan

Caroline holds a Bachelor of Arts in Disability Studies, a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Company Directors course. Caroline has over three decades of experience working across a range of for purpose organisations (small to large) as well as government authorities (local, state and statutory).

For the past 15+ years Caroline has held executive level roles including:

  • Director Strategy, Planning and Performance, The Royal Women's Hospital
  • Interim Chief Executive, Natural Carbon
  • Director Transformation, Australian Red Cross
  • Director Strategy and Operations, Northern Melbourne Medicare Local

Caroline is also an active non-executive Director. She is currently the Chair of Victorian Indigenous Nurseries Cooperative (VINC), and a Board Director and member of the Nominations and Remuneration, and Growth sub committees of Melbourne City Mission (MCM).

Consulting Snapshots

Natural Carbon

A small private carbon project development company that was going through a rebuild phase following the exit of former shareholders. Acting as the Interim Chief Executive, onboarded new institutional shareholders and Board members (Save the Children, Fair Trade, Olkola Aboriginal Corporation, Odonata); managed negotiation and signing of Shareholder Agreement and revised Constitution. Developed new company strategy. Secured $1M DFAT funding to expand company work into the Pacific. Ensured organisation compliance with Industry Code of Conduct, Emission Reduction Fund, and Australian Financial Services Licence regulations.

Are-able (formally WDEA Works)

A $70+M disability organisation with a range of employment and NDIS related services across regional Victoria and SA. Worked with the CEO and Director of Strategy and Growth to develop a New Business Strategy including approvals process and associated templates. Provided recommendations on new business opportunities to pursue covering commercial business purchases and merger/acquisition opportunities.

EDAR Disability Services

Over four months acted as EDAR College Director managing day to day operations while consecutively undertaking a complete review of College operations covering regulatory compliance, finances and curriculum. Review established the College had significant serious compliance, curriculum and financial deficiencies. Commenced implementation of required improvement plans, developed a new College business plan while supporting the organisation to recruit an ongoing College Director. College went on to make $1M profit the following financial year.
